About me
Catalina Pastrana Acosta, a contemporary artist from Medellín who divides her time between New York and Colombia, holds an MFA from Tufts University, Boston, MA. She blends her fashion design and fine arts background into a unique visual language, exploring the connection between emotional fluctuations and physical experiences through textiles and paint. Her intimate portraits have been recognized with awards such as the Spring 2023 Dana Pond Award and the Spring 2022 SMFA Dean's Research Award at Tufts University. Featured in exhibitions like BOLD: Challenging Norms at MassArt x SoWa and Been Here Before at the Aidekman Arts Center, Catalina’s work invites viewers to connect with their own emotional landscapes and bodily rhythms, celebrating the intricate beauty of our emotional experiences.
